Tuesday, November 22, 2011Book Review: Eternal Kiss of Darkness"Good book. Me likie! :P Dangit- it's so hard to review a book I srsly enjoy! Okok, for you? I'll try to do better! Mencheres is one of my favorite vamps in this series and he found a worthy mate. And, best of all, there was no- "I love him, but I shouldnt, but I luuuuve him" going on. Frost hit a high note with Eternal Kiss of Darkness as far as I'm concerned! Mecneres has been a son of Cain for a long, long time. (That’s Vampire to you and me!) Turned thousands of years ago, he also had the gift of sight, amongst all his other powerful gifts... until recently. Now the only thing he can see in his future is a veil of darkness. Sure that his death is imminent, the fartherest thing from his mind is the possibility of love after all these years- but that’s what he finds when a human woman “saves” him from a pack of ghouls. Kira Graceling had no idea the underworld she entered even existed. But when she discovers a man being tortured in an abandoned warehouse on the way home from work one day, she’s thrust into the middle of it. Now vampires and ghouls are her norm as the archenemy of the man- scratch that, undead- she saved is now hot on her trail… because Kira The Otherwise Ordinary has become the ancient vampire Mencheres’s greatest weakness. Menchy Baby, as I call him, captivated my imagination from the moment he came on the pages of one Cat and Bones’s stories (One Foot in the Grave) - and I couldn’t wait to hear this powerful Egyptian’s story! (An ancient Vamp who may or may not be related to Pharoahs!) He would have to have one special lady to be paired up with to make it work for me and Frost didn’t disappoint. Kira easily accepted his world and I liked that. She also immediately recognized love when she saw it and accepted it just as easily, which I really liked! The plot of ultimate “sibling” rivalry between the big bad and Menchy worked well here too- after all, they are sons of Cain in Frost’s world! So yeah, 4.5 out of 5. I couldn’t put it down once I got started! :P Labels: Book Reviews, PNR/UF Luv
